It was 1980, and for the Wahi family, weaving was not simply a business. It was a way of life. They could not have known then that every knot they tied would become part of a story that would one day stretch across oceans and span generations.

The Wahi family’s journey in the rug industry traces its roots to Varanasi, India—a city renowned worldwide for its rich tradition of textile weaving and artistry. For more than a century, the Wahi family has been immersed in the art of handmade rugs. As fourth-generation rug makers, the skills of hand-knotting, natural dyeing, washing, and restoring fine wool and silk rugs are woven into our heritage.

In 2002, Adi Wahi brought this generations-old expertise to North America, establishing his first wholesale rug warehouse before expanding into retail operations in Virginia. His vision was simple: to connect homeowners, designers, and collectors with authentic handmade rugs crafted by skilled artisans from around the world.
